CREATING COMMUNITY FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

In 2019 St. Thomas Aquinas expanded its religious education offerings to include classes adapted to the individual requirements of children with special needs.  Parishioner Margarita Cabada worked with Elementary RE Coordinator Lorianne Aubut to develop a flexible program that involves parents and volunteer buddies to create a learning community where these children can come to know God better and where their needs are respected as the prepare to receive the Sacraments.  We are thrilled that the May newsletter of the Diocese of Madison Apostolate for Persons with Disabilities includes an article by Margarita about this service.
